Wishing you a happy and sane New Year!

Flowers are a symbol of spring and renewal. 2017 was a difficult year for many. Dissension seemed to reign everywhere.  We waited daily for good news, positive steps to solve world and domestic problems and seemed to get only confusion, in-fighting and name calling. There has to be a better way. At the risk of sounding appallingly corny let’s try  ‘flower power’, e.g. take your opponent some flowers and say ‘let’s see if we don’t have enough common views that we can respect each other’s right to their opinion. Let’s try sister/brotherhood, embracing all races, religions, gender preferences and yes, even political bents”. There are many biases I simply don’t understand but I’m willing to try to understand if only to offer my respect for the American privilege of thinking how we want.
